Denounce the 2018 Federal Budget Proposal!
The recently announced 2018 Federal Budget Proposal outlines cuts to FAR TOO MANY public health programs - National Institutes of Health, Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Agriculture, and many others. Within EPA alone, 50 programs and 3,200 positions would be eliminated!
The Washington Post provides an excellent visual breakdown of the proposed budget cuts.
Not only will stateside agencies and programs feel the tightening of this budget’s belt, international aid will be impacted as well. The budget would gut foreign aid and walk back America's commitment to the world's most vulnerable families. If it passes, fewer women will survive childbirth. Fewer kids will get life-saving vaccines. And people will die.

Vote with your Dollars and Visit Sanctuary Restaurants!
Although the second iteration of the federal travel ban was stopped by a Hawaiian court last week, the Administration's orders authorizing the detainment of 11 million undocumented immigrants throughout our country remain in effect, as does the toxic stress that many among us are feeling right now.
If you’re not comfortable speaking to a representative about your concerns, advocate with your dollars by supporting the Sanctuary Restaurants movement. Launched earlier this month by Restaurant Opportunities Centers United (ROC United), a restaurant worker advocacy group, and Presente.org, a Latinx social justice organization, Sanctuary Restaurants provides resources to restaurants, enabling them to support our community, including our undocumented immigrants.

Save the Date - March for Science
The March for Science is a celebration of the collective passion for science and a call to support and safeguard the scientific community. Recent policy changes at the USDA, EPA, and other federal agencies have caused heightened worry among scientists, and the incredible and immediate outpouring of support has made clear that these concerns are also shared by hundreds of thousands of people around the world. The mischaracterization of science as a partisan issue, which has given policymakers permission to reject overwhelming evidence, is a critical and urgent matter, directly impacting public health. It is time for people who support scientific research and evidence-based policies to take a public stand and be counted.
The March for Science is an international movement, led by organizers distributed around the globe. This movement is taking place because of the simultaneous realization by thousands of scientists, and science enthusiasts that that staying silent is no longer an option. There are marches being planned across the United States and internationally.
